I'm James!
Once again, welcome to my little space. My name is James Gibb, also known
as Jim Gibb and I'm
45 years old.
I live in Whiteley, Fareham, near Southampton. Born in Scotland, I was educated
in various schools including Deans Primary School, Livingston; St Mary's Music
School, Edinburgh; and Broughton High School, also in Edinburgh.
After leaving school, I joined BP Shipping Ltd and was trained at South Shields
Marine & Technical College to become a Radio Officer. After college, I
completed six months training on board two ships: the MV British Wye and the MV
British Beech.
I then went to work for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as an Air Traffic
Engineer Cadet, completing nine months further training at the CAA's engineer
training college at Bletchley Park, near Milton Keynes.
On completion of training I was transferred to London Area & Terminal
Control Centre, West Drayton, in May 1988. I was based there for 18 years
during which time I lived in Slough, Bracknell and Bicester.
In 2005, I was (finally) awarded a BSc degree by the Open University.
In 2006, I transferred to Hampshire to take up a new role with NATS at their site at Swanwick.
